I have just finished these two enamelled note books
Both are 4ins x 2.5ins and made of steel.
This size gives me an ideal opportunity to experiment with the enamel and the photo resist film I am using to achieve the sand blasted images in the work.
Because I am about to learn (I hope) to saw metal using a jeweller's saw, my friend Dinahmow pointed me in your direction. She knew I woould be enthralled by your moths, spoons, metal notebooks and collographs. I'll follow, because I can't take it all in at once. Fantastic work. I love it!
I have been enjoying a visit to your site today, going back through some older posts, and oh so enjoying myself. These are absolutely gorgeous! I so wish I could see them in real life, but am truly enjoying all of the images. Thank you for sharing your work.
Hi Sue I really like this work. I am an art teacher looking for ways to push my a level students print work into another medium. Are you able to offer any advice on your enamelling process? Many thanks Ted
Looking good Sue. Great concept of the spiral bound notebook. That first image of the Violet Ground beetle is to die for. xx
ReplyDeleteI love these.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of these little notebooks made from such an unexpected material - notebooks which will last.
