COLOUR EXPERIMENTS

When all else fails and I can't think what to make next , it is a good point to experiment with
a few small sample collagraph plates. These tile cement and carborundum pieces are about 2 ins x 4 ins, sorry about the imperial measurements!
I have inked them up using simultaneous colour inking (or viscosity ) ...one trip through the press, I know hard to believe. I have added a little gold chine collee here and there, I love a bit of twinkle.
Looking at them now I think it might be worth trying to repeat these compositions in enamel.
That will while away a few hours when I should be writing essays!!

I love the indendations in that leaf image. I want to know how it is done. Will a cup of coffee on Monday prise the answer out of you? I'm going to print my plate tomorrow but I'm not happy with it so may have to revise it after the first attempt. I do have some gold leaf though so I might resort to the glitz effect! Thanks for the idea. See you Monday. Lesley

Sue, these details are gorgeous! Your work is always so deep and rich looking. Lots of layers and quite mysterious! The embossing is beautiful and adds perfect texture! Love these colour experiments...I'd like to explore viscosity printing! Like the idea on one off prints.

That 1st image really looks like enamel already - fabulous! Looking forward to seeing you soon. I can't blog at the moment which is rather frustrating so have had to resort to Facebook!
